Hey there Purpose Seeker!
We’re about 3 weeks into this journey of finding and fulfilling your purpose. Along the way, we’ve talked about many topics associated to the meaning of purpose, the process to find and start living a more meaningful life, and the challenges we all face in achieving our goals.
As I’ve been writing (for the first time in 5 years with clarity and focus!) I’ve learned quite a bit and grown immensely in this venture.

At the same time, I’ve been juggling a number of aspects behind the scenes and creating some more complex content that I believe will serve you well.
So that kind of brings me to a critical  cross road in building Fulfilled Purpose as I’d like to see it delivered. I really don’t want to “phone it in”, as they say. I want to see you succeed and deliver the best possible experience.
That said, I don’t have a finished post today. I wish I did. But in my never-ending commitment to be honest and transparent, I guess I took my eye off the ball. Sort of.
To be super honest, I took the last couple days to refocus on my family. We spent some awesome time together having fun and doing a few things as a family.
We went to a small amusement park yesterday and spent an amazing day with some friends. Today, we went for a hike in a State Forestry Area and gathered elderberries to enjoy a wine making hobby that my wife and I have shared for the last 6 or so months. And tomorrow, we again will spend some time with friends and enjoy the few remaining days of summer before the long and inevitable winter of Upstate New York comes upon us.
But, I haven’t stopped working. Actually as I write this, I’ve been at the computer for the last couple hours hammering out some research, gathering evidence based science of the role of purpose and meaning in the human experience, and studying the crap out of this topic to give you what no one else can.
And on top of all of THAT, this week I also held client calls, met with a Business Advisor regarding my business plan, and even started working with a good friend who so graciously offered to help on the tech side utilizing his expertise in the area of software development. CRAZY WEEK!
I love it. But again, I took my eye off the ball. I don’t have a post today to directly help you get to where you want to go. And that really relates to the post from Tuesday and getting all the “stuff” on your to do lists done. As I’m sure you can relate, it never really gets shorter.
I truly believe though, that there is a lesson even in this. I set up the right focus ( I had my Big 3 tasks for the day), I carved out the time to make it happen (I scheduled the big stuff first), and I lived in line with my values (I cuddled with The Princess tonight while watching our family movie night. She NEVER sits with me on family movie night, so I couldn’t have well passed THAT up!). But I again failed to get the blog post that I’ve been working on finished and uploaded.
I hope you’ll forgive me. I will say thought that while I’ve been energized and totally excited to talk with you here, I was beginning to feel out of balance. I felt like I was tethered to the keyboard and that it was taking me away from some of the other stuff that I wanted to do as well ( The Queen got “mad” at me the other day and in frustration reminded me that I’ve been working on this for 16 hours a day).
Admittedly, I almost even bailed on the daytrip yesterday. I’m so glad I didn’t.
All that said, I’m sharing this with you because I want you to know that my goal is to serve you well. I could’ve posted tonight with something that wasn’t top notch. Something that didn’t clearly communicate what I wanted to say. Something that probably still has some editing. But I don’t think that would serve you, and that wouldn’t be fair.
This week, we get back to it. Full force. And the week following The Queen, The Princess, and Awall all go back to school (please excuse the excited happy dance that I’ll again have my full days back to focus without constant craziness around the house!) So stay tuned, buckle up, cuz it’s about to get FANTASTIC!
Thanks for reading, for being awesome, and sticking with me.
You all rock!
Kev
